A single-case stuttering study
One paper compares fMRI activation before and after intervention in a nine-year-old girl with stuttering. The authors report changes in the examined regions. One case is not sufficient to generalize effectiveness or establish causation.
ASD-related brain-mapping indicators
Another paper describes a quasi-experimental study with 66 participants in two groups of 33. Selected qEEG indicators were compared before and after the program. These findings should not be presented as proof of improvement in all autism symptoms.
Questions that remain
Durability, everyday functioning, concurrent care and independent replication remain important questions. The brain-mapping paper also calls for randomized studies, standardized behavioral measures and follow-up.
